instrument. It was invented by acoustic scientist,

instrument?
A: It is a stringed instrument.
- Q: How many strings does it have?
A: Normally twelve strings which can be either specially
made for Deltar or normal guitar strings.
- Q: Is the Deltar a portable instrument?
A: Yes, it can be carried by hand. It weights a few kilos
and is about 80 centimetres long.
- Q: Is the Deltar easy to handle?
A: Yes, very easy because of its compact size.
- Q: How much does the Deltar weigh?
A: Normally about 2 to 3 kg.
- Q: Is the Deltar acoustically loud enough?
A: Yes, it is quite loud because of its three sided open
ended body. By changing the body material, we can directly
affect its acoustic features and loudness.
- Q: Is the Deltar shorter or longer than a
guitar?
A: The Deltar is shorter than the guitar. Overall length is
80 cm.
- Q: If I am a musician, can I play it easily?
A: Yes, you can play it with ease. You can play it for
example with fingers, by picking or sliding a tube. Only
your imagination sets the limits how to play Deltar. Some of
our test group musicians report it is also possible to use
the body as a percussive instrument.

A: The playability of the twelve strings (which can be tuned
as desired) can be very creative.
